What You'll Do in This Position The primary responsibility of this position is to perform the duties of a File Room Clerk.
As most employee files are in paper format, documents need to be filed in individual folders.
There is also a need to access electronic files as well for various site-wide programs and requests.
Adhering to deadlines and attention to detail is required in this role.
Standards of confidentiality must also be kept.
In addition to providing files and employee data to authorities requesting information, there is also the responsibility for maintaining record logs and ordering supplies.
Perform administrative tasks in support of a work group working from standard and special office procedures.

Perform office management functions for a direct manager or workgroup as well as perform duties for a specific workgroup such as document control or records management.
Work from standard and special office procedures, administrative training, and job knowledge where management direction is readily available.
Duties may include:
Perform administrative functions such as:
general or specialized typing/indexing, sort, file, check, correct or stamp a wide variety of classified or unclassified documents Create documents utilizing Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Train and be proficient in a variety of applications pertinent to Savannah River operations Operate computer to research, input, change data and manipulate software to achieve desired results Produce and type a variety of correspondences, receive, open, sort and distribute mail and information to proper person, place, or file Establish and maintain files and logs and prepare reports and statistics Answer, screen, route, redirect and make local/long distance and international calls as requested to include answering basic inquiries Maintain manager's or group's calendars and make travel arrangements Compile and prepare a variety of activity reports and correspondence of a confidential and/or classified nature (e.
g.
, personnel, wage and salary, budget, expense data) Assist less experienced employees and advise on appropriate procedures and standards Use various software applications and operate or use equipment such as computer, fax machines, various media readers, copiers, scanners/printers (large and small formats), telephone equipment, and other related office and reproduction equipment as well as supplies Receive, greet, escort, extend hospitality, and/or direct visitors and inquiries Establish and maintain good working relations with both internal and external contacts/customers Assignments with the primary responsibility of reproduction tasks must:
Have the ability to setup, adjust and operate variety of reproduction and finishing equipment from simple copiers to high-speed duplex equipment, large and small format scanners, and printers, to demand publishing systems.
Physically be able to lift and load large bulk rolls of paper.
Operate binding and finishing machines, aperture card, roll film, fiche, and radiograph converter equipment to digitize various types of film as well as finishing equipment such as folder, hole punch, shredder, string machine, cutter, sealer, large format, laminator, and poster roller.
Check work and processes to maintain quality and production standards.
Order and maintain supply stock.
Evaluate jobs and workloads to determine most productive solution.
Work from standard and special procedures, reproduction orders, according to work schedule and supervisory direction.
Utilize Preflight electronic files for subcontract and in-house reproduction.
Scan various size documents, and program equipment.
Fill Customer Requests:
Electronic/Manual reproduction, packaging, photos, and posters Attach electronic files and images in various systems Perform administrative work functions such as prioritization, and determination of productive solution s Take corrective action to make needed changes Assist other team members with equipment and usage Perform duties in Classified as well as Unclassified environments using appropriate communication and teamwork competencies Perform other duties as requested or assigned by manager.
Normal work location for this position is an office building.
Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications.
Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.
S.
citizenship.
Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.

Clearance Required to Perform Job? None Qualifications We Require High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential Other Qualifications Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Must be able to lift boxes of paper and boxes of records for copying and filing purposes.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
Qualifications We Desire Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
) and email systems.
Ability to operate standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, computers, etc.
).
A related college degree could substitute for a portion of experience.
