STRUCTURAL DESIGNER/DRAFTER POSITION

Our company is looking for a structural designer/drafter to draw 2D structural building plans,

create 3D models of buildings and use structural analysis programs to assist engineers. Experience with

CAD programs is required. Experience in the construction industry is preferable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review preliminary building information provided by the Arch/ Owner
  • Research building codes and site specific design criteria
  • Drawing structural plans for buildings including specifications, framing plans and detail sheets
  • Perform research on new/unfamiliar construction types
  • Input data into structural analysis software (Microsoft Excel, RISA, etc)
  • Assist engineers with load generation and analysis
  • Following and updating checklist that are provided for projects
  • Travelling to construction sites to inspect progress
  • Surveying/ inspecting existing buildings
  • Logging job data into server

Skills

  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Quick learner of AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Able to work under pressure on fast track projects
  • Being respectful to co-workers and clients

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
