Permanent Full-time The incumbent of this position will provide overall leadership, direction and/or oversight of assigned contractor and Federal programs and activities for the Department of Energy, Savannah River Operations Office (DOE-SR) and is responsible for all aspects of financial management, inclusive of but not limited to, the execution of the procedures, policies, and programs related to budgeting, accounting, financial review; and analysis activities as well as review and administrative responsibility of contractor financial activities.
This position is located with the Savannah River Operations Office, Office of the Field Chief Financial Officer.
NOTE: This is an Excepted Service position. This position will not confer Competitive Service career-conditional or career tenure status. This means that if you are selected, you would have to compete with other applicants in open competition to meet requirements for another federal position, unless you meet the requirements for reinstatement. DOE employees who voluntarily convert from the competitive service, Senior Executive Service, or other pay systems to a non-time limited appointment under this excepted service authority are not afforded fallback rights to the pay system previously assigned prior to conversion. You must be a United States Citizen. This employer participates in the e-Verify program. See Other Information section regarding Selective Service requirements. As the Financial Manager you will:
serve as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Savannah River (SR); oversee the day to day financial operation/management of SR;
provide the Department of Energy (DOE) CFO pertinent financial information on SR operations which fully supports the efforts of DOE to maximize resources and minimize cost while delivering mission critical services;
ensure proper fiscal stewardship of the Department''s financial resources under the control of the incumbent to ensure that budget functions and execution processes are affected consistent with applicable DOE and Federal-wide requirements;
provide financial advice to management so that they may make informed decisions which affect the planning, prioritizing and use of available dollar resources as it relates to funds required for DOE contractor pension plans.
EDUCATION: _ Although a degree is not required, your educational background will be strongly considered in the evaluation of your overall qualifications for this position. Supporting documentation of your education and training is appreciated, even though not required for this position. Incumbent must be able to obtain/maintain a DOE Q security clearance.

Applicants must have had at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/pay band in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience with responsibility and accountability for planning, directing, and managing program operations pursuant to the overall management activity that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to resolve significant complex problems in several financial management areas such as project management, planning, and control; budget formulation and execution; accounting and internal review; and developing, applying and adjusting financial plans and policies to attain the agency objectives.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
