Ford designed second generation Broncos on F100 pickup truck chassis featuring a hi-low 2 speed transfer case and Dana axle.
Bronco's were built as a tough with the ability to handle any terrain.
Ford was advertisements called them 'America's Truck', 'Free Wheelin Fords', and challenged consumers to 'Compare it to any 4-Wheeler anywhere.
